The TAD-202 Informer Monitoring and Tracking System
The TAD-202 brings GPS tracking to the Informer range. It provides all the functionality of the TAD-201 and adds the ability to pinpoint the units location using the integrated GPS receiver.
What is the Informer?
The Informer is an add-on for your existing alarm system that notifies you or your friends by SMS text message when your alarm is triggered. The TAD-202 variety adds GPS tracking so you can pinpoint the exact loaction of your property instantly, and at any time.The TAD-202 can also be used as a stand alone tracking device - simply connect two wires to the vehicles power supply and you are ready to go.
But remotely monitored alarm systems are expensive!
The Informer is not expensive to run. There is no contract involved. In fact, you only pay for the text messages the Informer sends you when the alarm is triggered and messages you send to it for configuration or status querying. If you put a standard prepay SIM card into the informer you will only pay around 12p per message. Tracking your property is charged in the same way - for the cost of one text message you can find out exactly where it is.How does it work?
The Informer has only four connections to be made to your existing alarm system. Once these connections are made the unit is configured by sending it text messages. The configuration is simple and the defaults will suit most installations. After configuration the alarm system is used as normal. If an intruder is detected text messages are sent to the phone numbers configured in the Informer.To track your property you simply send the Informer unit a message asking where it is. Arming and Disarming
The Informer is armed and disarmed automatically by the alarm system it is connected to. It can however be disabled and re-enabled by text message.Capabilities
The Informer has three pull-low inputs and one pull-high input. One of the pull-low inputs can be configured to be an output if required and can be controlled by text message. Each of the inputs can be configured to transmit a user defined message to up to four phones when it is switched on or off. The Informer also monitors its supply voltage and can send low voltage warnings at user defined levels. The TAD-202 has GPS for tracking purposes.
